Selective Syncing
Tim Ferguson
Right now, when a user syncs on mobile, they will have to wait for records or changes in other apps to sync as well. It would be nice if there was a way that an Owner or Manager could set an app up to only sync changes made to that specific app when the user is in the field. This would save time in the field especially for larger customers who are collecting large amounts of data across multiple apps.

Having the ability to remove downloaded records on devices for specific apps would be extremely useful. Would be good to select the apps you want to have data downloaded for and return the rest to the cloud. The only options currently is to change the visibility of apps for specific users (not an option for us) or use the record cache clear option, however the records redownload anyway next time a sync takes place.
Another nice option would be to remove downloaded map layers on iOS devices.

I would like to be able to choose what syncs to mobile devices. For example, syncing only choice lists but not data records. Or choose only 1 record to sync from the mobile device, etc.

Instead of syncing data across all apps a user has access to, they can select specific apps that they want to sync. This way, if other users with access to the same apps have synced a large number of records, there won't be a delay.

It would be great to "sync all" or "sync favorites only" or "sync this app only".

Hello Tim, I'll share a work-around I use for a similar issue. I would have the situation where I'd be working in the field on an inventory and after creating dozens of new records with a couple pictures for each record I would realize I need to make a change to the app it's self. But I was in the field and not on Wi-Fi. I didn't have time or want to waste the data on syncing all of the pictures. So I changed the sync settings where it would only sync the data while using data. And then only sync pictures when on connected to Wi-Fi. This was a game changer for me. Hopefully this helps.
