Beign able to put down polygons of specific sizes from your current location
Jack Hardie
For our work we do a lot of 50 x 50m quadrats that allign cardinally. It would be a very handy feature if we were able to be able to put down a 50 x 50m polygon or coner points that we could use to potentially eliminate measuring these out by hand. Obviously these will not be as accurate as GPS can be out by 3m or so but this would still be a very handy feature. We also do 10 x 10m quadrats and sometimes 25 x 100.
Thanks

Hi Jack,
We don’t have exactly what you’re asking for here, but I wanted to just point out some tools and features that might help make this easier (if you’re not already using them).
You are able to snap to ArgGIS feature service layers on web (and SOON mobile- v2507.1.0 mobile apps will have snapping capabilities). ArcGIS has a public latitude and longitude grids layer available that we can use.
Add the layer to your AGOL account (select New item and use “URL”, paste the service’s url in: https://services.arcgis.com/P3ePLMYs2RVChkJx/arcgis/rest/services/World_Latitude_and_Longitude_Grids/FeatureServer). This works with any account- even free/public ones!
Back in Fulcrum, you’ll be able to “Connect to ArcGIS” and add the layer to your map. You can snap right to these latitude or longitude lines in the layer, see the segment length (tooltips), and get perfect 90 degree angles (geometry guides).
Here’s some more information about Snapping, Geometry Guides, and Tooltips:
