Ability to choose date format

You can actually do this in a calculation field within the app if needed with javascript.
var today = $sample_date;
var dd = today.getDate();
var mm = today.getMonth() + 1;
var yyyy = today.getFullYear();
var sample;
if (ISNEW) {
sample = CONCAT(mm, dd, yyyy, '-', $fixture_id_final);
}
SETRESULT(sample);
This is a calc field I use to set a custom sample name.
If you are pulling data out through the query API you can write the SQL statement to output the date in whatever format you want.
TO_CHAR(cs_shift_date, 'mm-dd-yy') AS cs_shift_date

Completely agree - the MM-DD format is so alien outside the US

As a new user of Fulcurm and not located in North America the USA date format causes confusion early in the year and/or before the 13th of any month.
